22.01.2019 Doctoral research project entitled: Analysis and assessment of degradation of polychrome metallic artworks (ESR11) within the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme
Main achievements
This project focuses on the study of the formation of metal soaps on painted metal. The research team will develop a methodology based on multi-modal analyses for the assessment of the different factors related to the degradation processes.

Skills required
-Hold a university Master’s degree in materials science or in imaging and intelligence techniques
-Autonomy, organizational and very good communication skills
-Good level of English (oral and written) is a prerequisite (CEFR Level - B2)

Additional assets
-Experience in dealing with polychrome artworks and conservation research
-Knowledge on metals (identification, corrosion)
-Technical analytical skills (including FTIR/Raman microscopy, XRD, SEM-EDS)
-Some knowledge of French will be an advantage
