Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst

Since 1996, the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst has stood for collecting, exhibiting and making international contemporary art accessible to the public. Alternating solo and group exhibitions, as well as works from the collection, are presented on two levels of the Löwenbräu art complex. The museum sees itself as a dynamic platform for the production of contemporary art, supplemented by an extensive public programme.

How do disruptions inform our relationship with our world? To explore this question, the two-part exhibition Aus den Fugen – Momente der Störung (English: Out of joint – Moments of disruption) gathers works from the museum’s collection.

Basel Abbas & Ruanne Abou-Rahme. May amnesia never kiss us on the mouth

he New York and Ramallah-based artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme will present their first solo exhibition in Switzerland at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst. Through sound- and image-based multi-channel installations and live performances, Abbas and Abou-Rahme develop projects that revolve around witnessing, archiving, and exhibiting recordings of violence and loss.
