Museum zu Allerheiligen

The Museum zu Allerheiligen is located in the middle of the picturesque historic center of Schaffhausen. In the former Benedictine monastery of Allerheiligen, alongside artifacts from the monastery’s past, the museum brings together archaeology and cultural history, a significant collection of antiquities, an art collection with works by Cranach, Hodler, Val¬otton, Otto Dix, and Adolf Dietrich, as well as a natural history collection. The museum cafe—with the idyllic Pfalzhof open in the summer—is the perfect place for a relaxing break. The cathedral, cloister, and monastery garden are open to the public during the day.

BodenSchätzeWerte. Our Use of Natural Resources

-
The exhibition, conceived by focusTerrra at ETH Zurich, illustrates the formation, use, and mining of mineral resources—and how we deal with them when we no longer need a product.

In 43 modules, economic, environmental, and social topics will be addressed with exhibits and media stations that spur us to think about our own consumption of resources.

Art Out of the Rubble

Swiss Cultural Donations after the Bombing of Schaffhausen in 1944
The accidental bombing of Schaffhausen by American aircraft on 1 April 1944 wreaked death and destruction on the city. The Museum zu Allerheiligen and the former natural history museum were also hit. The tragic event was followed by an unprecedented wave of solidarity throughout Switzerland. For the first time, an exhibition will present the full range of approximately 80 artworks from this cultural donation.
