Stiftung Brasilea

The Brasilea Foundation is a center for cultural mediation between Switzerland and Brazil. The idea of the founder, Walter Wüthrich, to promote cultural and artistic exchange between Switzerland and Brazil through the establishment of a cultural center, is put into practice with exhibitions and events of various kinds.

The permanent collection of Walter Wüthrich consists of paintings by the artist Franz Josef Widmar as well as personal objects. A selection of these is on display on the first floor of the Brasilea Foundation.

Since its opening, the Brasilea Foundation has presented over 70 exhibitions (paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, objects and media art) and welcomed numerous visitors to various Brazil-related events such as film evenings, concerts, book presentations and much more.
