Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and the Grandeur of the Mountains

-
The focus is on the production of Kirchner between 1917 and 1937 and linked to the theme of the Alpine landscape of Davos where he took refuge to overcome the turmoil unleashed by the Second World War. From the 1920 painting Heimkehrende Ziegenherde by the Braglia Foundation, the importance of the mountain for the artistic and personal rebirth of a key figure of German expressionism is analyzed.
