Dampfbahn-Verein Zürcher Oberland

DVZO: The Dampfbahn-Verein Zürcher Oberland
Established in 1969, the Dampfbahn-Verein Zürcher Oberland (DVZO) has since 1978 operated heritage trains over the former tracks of the erstwhile Uerikon-Bauma-Bahn between Bauma – Bärestwil - Hinwil, whose regular services had ceased in the same year. Since 2000, the DVZO has taken over the ownership of the stretch between Bauma and Bäretswil and operates as a fully licensed railway company. The society also possesses the right to organise and run special charter trains throughout the whole of Switzerland. All active members of the society, including those carrying out maintenance on rolling stock and permanent way, work on a voluntary basis in their free time, so that you are able to experience the romanticism of rail travel from a bygone age for family-friendly prices.
