Fotostiftung Schweiz

The Fotostiftung Schweiz (Swiss Foundation for Photography) is dedicated to the acquisition, preservation and presentation of photographic works. It administrates an archive and a collection which together contain over 50 photographic estates and around 50,000 original prints of work by outstanding photographers. The Fotostiftung organizes three exhibitions per year in its own premises in Winterthur, issues publications on the history of Swiss photography and supports contemporary photography in Switzerland by purchasing modern work. The Fotostiftung Schweiz, in collaboration with the Fotomuseum Winterthur, operates a specialzed public library on the subject of photography.
