The role involves assisting with the packing, dispatching, handling, and inventory management of artworks and editions. Work would take place at our warehouse in Hésingue, France, located approximately 20 minutes from Basel, Switzerland. This is a flexible freelance collaboration, with assignments scheduled according to operational needs. The workload may vary from week to week, depending on incoming shipments, dispatches, inventory updates, and project requirements. Fluent spoken and written English is required. We have built up a catalogue of more than 500 titles currently in active distribution (in English, German, and French) in the contemporary art field. In 2019, JRP|Editions launched a brand-new website to reflect its new impetus and its Multiples’ department, which produces limited editions such as lithographs, screen prints, sculptures, mirrors, and bronzes.

Key Responsibilities

Packing, Order Fulfillment & Internal Logistics
○ Design and build custom protective packaging (cardboard structures, foam supports, double-tubes, crates when needed) to ensure safe transport of artworks.
○ Conduct condition checks on artworks before packing, promptly reporting any issues internally.
○ Ensure orders get picked up and dispatched on time.
○ Transport works to and from framing studios / Zurich showroom when needed.

Warehouse & Inventory Control
○ Oversee inventory of all editions, ensuring safe and efficient storage of artworks.
○ Conduct inventories condition checks on incoming artworks, promptly reporting any discrepancies internally.
○ Maintain up-to-date inventories of stored artworks and monitor their condition and prepare inventory or condition reports when needed.
○ Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and use space and mechanical handling equipment effectively to enable efficient storing, packing and dispatching of artworks.
○ Control packaging supplies levels to ensure materials are readily available.

Requirements

● High attention to detail and care, with a focus on delivering a high-end art experience to our collectors.
● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with adaptability in fast-paced environments.
● Experience in logistics and handling delicate, high-value, luxury items. Experience in art handling is preferable.
● Valid driver’s license.
● Flexibility to adjust working hours and weekly schedule based on business needs.
● A growth mindset, always seeking ways to improve processes.
● Fluency in English (spoken and written).
● Autonomous and communicative.
● Interest in art and creative culture.
● Proficient with standard computer tools, including the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace.
